DDG Ashburton Pty Ltd has awarded a contract to Monadelphous to construct the Onslow Power Station Gas Pipeline. Stretching from the DDG Ashburton West Facility on the Griffin Gas onshore gas pipeline to the outlet of the Ashburton Onslow Metre Station. The site of the new Onslow gas fired power station, near Onslow, in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia, is a distance of 24 kilometres.

New Onslow Power Station Gas Pipeline to be Owned and Operated by DDG

DDG is a part of the DBP Development Group, a fully owned subsidiary of DUET, a group of companies that include the DUET Finance Trust, three Australian based public companies DFL, DUET Company Limited and DIHL (DUET Investment Holdings). These companies trade in Australia as the one DUET Group. The DUET management has wide experience and expert knowledge in the energy utility industry.

DDG is one of Australia's Leading Gas Infrastructure Companies

The gas pipeline team belonging to the DUET Group, DDG, is one of the leading developers of gas transmission pipelines in Australia. DDG Ashburton Pty Ltd, Western Australia's most critical gas infrastructure company, is taking the opportunity to complete a system of gas pipelines in the Western Australian Pilbara Region during the lull in Pilbara mining activity, owing to the ongoing fall in iron ore prices. The development arm of DDG, the company that owns the 1,500 kilometre long Bunbury to Dampier Natural Gas Pipeline, has placed itself in a position to take full advantage of the gasification of the Pilbara. DDG is making use of its gas pipeline expertise to ensure it secures long term gas distribution contracts to new customers operating in the mineral processing industry.

Onslow Power Station Gas Pipeline Adds to Pilbara Growth

The piping of gas in Western Australia is presently undergoing considerable growth, with domestic gas production facilities soon to come on line in the north of Western Australia as well as the resource projects in the Pilbara region, as companies switch from diesel power to natural gas for their energy requirements.

DDG First Entered Contract With Chevron Australia in 2013

In September 2013, DDG entered into a contract with Chevron Australia, for it to construct, own and operate the Wheatstone Ashburton West Pipeline in Western Australia, to service one of the largest capital expenditure gas projects in Australia. This pipeline carried LNG as well as being used for the siting of domestic gas production facilities.

DDG's initial interest involved the acquiring of a pipeline easement and the acquisition of two existing pipelines that connected Compressor Station 2 to the Ashburton West area and a gas hub servicing important domestic gas facilities of the Macedon and Wheatstone projects. This strategic easement location provided DDG with its first Pilbara investment opportunity.
