Australian Tailings Group (ATG)/Synergy Group is developing the Olary Creek iron sand mining project approximately 70 kilometres south west of Broken Hill and 40 kilometres south of the indian Pacific railway line and Barrier Highway in the Olary Region of South Australia. It is part of the wider Area C project that has the potential to become a significant iron sand mining project, with the capability of producing a high grade iron ore containing few impurities, with the use of a basic dry magnetic separation method.
Olary Creek/Area C Iron Sand Project to Use IronClad Mining's Infrastructure

In late January 2014 the developer of the Olary Creek/Area C iron sand project, Australian Tailings Group, teamed up with IronClad Mining to co- operate with the development of their two projects in South Australia. The partnership formed between the two companies will be beneficial to both as it will facilitate blending opportunities of IronClad Mining magnetite ore mined from its Wilcherry Hill project with that of Australian Tailings Group, Area C magnetite development. It will also give the two companies the ability to increase the utilisation of various pieces of equipment.
Olary Creek/Area C Project Development to Benefit From Synergy Plus Reverse Takeover

Australian Tailings Group, which was founded in 2009 as a privately funded group, became listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), following a reverse take-over of Synergy Plus Limited, a merger of the two companies that allowed public trading to commence without it having to resort to an initial public offering, that is nornally the case.
Area C Project Exploration Licence Covers 6,100 Hectares

The Olary Creek/Area C iron sands project has exploration licences covering 6,100 hectares It will produce a high grade magnetite product with low impurity levels, after processing it through a simple dry magnetic separation process, that can be carried out on-site. The agreement reached with IronClad Mining will help ATG in solving its transportation and shipping problems, as well as assisting in the marketing of its product. It will also benefit IronClad Mining by maximising the use of its proposed port and transhipment infrastructure in South Australia.

Exploration licence 4566Area C, that covers the Olary Creek iron ore sands deposit, to be developed by ATG, was initially held in the name of Wentworth Metals Group Pty Ltd before it was acquired by Australian Tailings Group. It consists of flat lying sediments that contains alluvial flood plane sand and clay in large quantities along dry creek beds. These sands contain large volumes of naturally beneficiated magnetite sand. The Olary Creek system extends to a distance of 100 kilometres with magnetire sand being noted throughout the entire system and in some instances, in many other locations throughout the Olary Province, that stretches over a distance of 250 kilometres with a mineralisation width of 50 kilometres. The area of iron sand mineralisation was initially considered too vast for accurate sampling when first observed in 2009.

The Olary Creek flows in an easterly direction before heading south towards the Murray Darling Basin where it spreads out and disappears in the Murray Darling Basin flood plain. The Murray Darling has a long history of heavy mineral sand resources that have long been exploited by Iluka Resources. ATG plan to develop sand mining of the Olary Creek/Area C project by removing sand from the large dry creek bed, process it and then return the processed sand to the creek bed without any effect whatsoever on the environment.
