The Duplex Hill South gold mine is currently owned by mineral exploration company Pioneer Resources. Pioneer Resources having acquired the tenements when it acquired the Golden Ridge Project in 2012. The Golden ridge project having comprised a number of nickel and gold prospects including the non-operational Blair Nickel mine and the Duplex Hill South gold prospect.

Aggressive Exploration Currently Being Carried out at Duplex Hill South

The Duplex Hill South gold prospect is currently undergoing aggressive exploration activity in order for Pioneer Resources Limited to prove up a viable resource at the site. The mine is located around 40 kilometres south east of Kalgoorlie in the rich mineral area of the eastern gold fields. The Golden Ridge Project itself containing 163 square kilometres of mining leases and advanced nickel and gold prospects.

Duplex Hill South's owner, Pioneer Resources Limited, is regarded as a specialist exploration company that has access to a quite large multi-commodity tenement portfolio covering an area within 200 kilometres of Kalgoorlie.

Duplex Hill South is Part of the Golden Ridge Nickel and Gold Project

The Duplex Hill South Mine was acquired following the successful sale of Pioneer Resources Limited's Mount Jewell West Gold project. This sale allowed the company to purchase promising replacement properties of which the Golden Ridge Nickel and Gold Project was one of the most promising.

It is the aim of Pioneer Resources Limited to discover and develop mineral resources with a high value within the Eastern Goldfields region around Kalgoorlie in Western Australia where it hold a total of 2,300 square kilometre of exploration and gold mining tenements.. It plans to generate capital growth with the discovery of economic ore bodies of nickel and gold within this tenement area.

Eastern Goldfields is Part of the Greater Goldfields-Esperance Region

The Eastern Goldfields is a world class nickel and gold province that is part of the Goldfields Esperance region of Australia than is one of Western Australia's nine regions. It also includes land along the Great Australian Bight that comprises part of the Nullarbor. The total area of the Goldfields is 771,276 square kilometres with most of it being a low flat plateau but also very highly mineralised with a large variety of minerals particularly gold. It contains no rivers and ground water is extremely brackish.

One of roles Pioneer Resources Limited sees itself as playing in this mineral rich area is that of carrying out cost effective exploration campaigns, targeting in on areas that are the most likely to have resources worthy of further development. It is hoped that the Duplex Hill South Mine can become one of these developments.

If it can be proven that the Duplex Hill South Mine is able to develop a capacity to deliver low cost production, Pioneer will continue with its development in order to make the most of its high value metal deposits. By doing this the company plans to expand its portfolio and in due course operate the mines with appropriate joint partners.
