The currently reported resource at the Butterfly Gold mine contains over 22 million tonnes of ore that is expected to produce 769,000 ounces of gold. This is expected to produce an annual gold output of 100,000 ounces for its owners, Nex Metals Exploration Limited.

Butterfly Mine Owner Nex Metals Exploration Have over 300 Square Kilometres of Tenements in the Area

Nex Metals Exploration hplds more than 300 square kilometres of tenements in the Kookynie area of the rich North Coolgardie Mineral Field. An area that has a history of gold mining dating back to the 1890's. In proving up the viability of the Butterfly mine prospects Nex Exploration thoroughly examined a large database of reports including 50,000 soil samples and 16,000 drill holes.

The Butterfly Open Pit is Being Used as a Fast Cash Flow Opportunity

The Butterfly open pit gold mine is primarily operated as a near term toll mining project with the intention of generating a fast cash flow for the company. The mine contained the following development benefits when acquired by Nex Metals:

ï The inheritance of a one million tonne per annum CIP gold treatment plant

ï Haulage roads

ï Tailings storage and bore field

ï A 40 person camp as well as the usual recreation facilities for the workers when on roster

ï An open pit mined to 25 metres with ore immediately available

ï Power

ï Internet

ï Vehicles

ï Bore water

Nex Metals Exploration poured its first gold produced at the butterfly mine on March 16, 2012.

Ore Taken to the Brightstar Mill at Laverton for Processing

Pit production at the Butterfly gold mine is carried out with a EX 1200 excavator, three Cat 77D dump trucks and support vehicles. The mine has been producing 4,183 tonnes a day and Calin Haulage Pty Ltd transports the ore with its three trailer road trains to the Stone Resources Brightstar Processing Plant at Laverton at the rate of 552 tonnes every day. As at April 18, 2012, Calin Haulage had taken 31,039 tonnes to Brightstar for processing from a total production of 53,261 tonnes.

Millions of Dollars in Start-up Costs Saved

The mill and camp at the Butterfly mine were first constructed in 1995 but were placed on care and maintenance only two years later. However, with these infrastructure facilities already on site as well as the haulage road, tailings storage etc. it is estimated to have saved Nex Exploration many millions of dollars in start up costs.

Although previous exploration activity in the Nex Exploration tenement area has been of a stop start nature hampered by shallow drilling with many different companies being involved, Nex have plans that will see a steady step by step approach in future development. The company believes that considering the short lead time involved in obtaining gold production at the Butterfly mine because of the low strip ratio ore availability in the already half mined Butterfly pit, the over 500,000 million ounces gold recovery estimate and the potential for a major new discovery, the future at the Butterfly mine offers them a promising future.
