The Bowdens Silver Project is located at Lue, 26 kilometres east of Mudgee and 240 kilometres west of Sydney, in Central New South Wales. The Bowdens deposit contains around 182 million ounces of silver, determined in line with JORC guidelines.

The Bowdens Silver Project to Have an Initial Life of 10 Years

The Bowdens Project that is sited on an area of 610 hectares is expected to have a life of mine of at least 10 years during which time it will be expected to produce 46 million tonnes of silver, zinc and lead. An attractive feature of the Bowdens Project site is its closeness to available infrastructure such as water and grid power, as well as having access to a nearby skilled workforce.

The Bowdens Project is Well Advanced

The Bowdens Project is well advanced and it has the added advantage that much of the technical work has already been completed by its former owners. It therefore enjoys having a sizeable number of respected consultants on hand along with a number of technical experts.

The Bowdens Silver Project is now owned by Kingsgate Consolidated Limited which purchased it in August 2011 from a subsidiary company owned by Silver Standard Resources Incorporated. Mineral exploration began in the area surrounding the Bowdens deposit in the 1980's by three exploration companies, Silver Standard, CRA Exploration and Golden Shamrock Mineral Exploration.

Bowdens Silver Mine to be an Open Pit Operation

The strip ratio is low at the Bowdens proposed mine site owing to the character of the mineralisation, as a result open pit optimisation has indicated a near surface zone of high grade silver that can be easily accessed during the early stages of the mining operation. Mining at theBowdens Project will be undertaken by open pit methods and a concentrator plant that will be capable of handling four million tonnes annually.

Bowdens Project to Take up Most of Site Area

Around 70 percent of the 610 hectares that makes up the Bowdens Project will be used for infrastructure works, most of this will be made up of the following:The open cut mine itselfA tailings storage facilityTwo waste rock emplacements that will include a lowgrade ore stockpile within one of the emplacementsA processing plant

Bowdens Mineralisation Expected to Increase

The Bowdens Project JORC compliant resource estimate that was finalised in late 2012 and the latest measured, indicated and inferred resource, both indicate a resource of 182 million ounces of silver exists at thesite. This will be obtained from the ore delivering 30 grams of silver for every tonne of ore processed. It is also expected that the Bowdens Resource will increase over time as a result of further exploration in and around the present defined orebody and ongoing drilling within the licence area that has already identified similar mineralisation with grades showing excellent potential.

The Bowdens Project is expected to create up to 300 jobs during the construction phase and 200 permanent jobs when the mine becomes operational. It will also create many indirect position as well as open up opportunities for local support and service industries.
