YPNPL

Yara Pilbara Nitrates Pty Ltd (YPNPL) formerly Burrup Nitrates Pty Ltd (BNPL), is a joint venture between Yara, Orica and Apache and is developing a Technical Grade Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) production facility near Karratha in Western Australia, named the TAN Burrup.

TAN is the prominent raw material used for the creation of ANFO (Porous Ammonium Nitrate and Fuel Oil), the most used civil explosive that is readily available in Australia. TAN is commonly used by Australian mining companies.

The TAN Burrup Project is due to be completed early in 2015 and is expected to employ 60 full time employees when fully operational.
