Wyong Areas Coal JV

The Wallarah 2 Coal Project is a joint venture between several shareholders that commenced exploration in 1995 in the Wyong Shire in New South Wales. The project consists of the construction and operation of an underground coal mine together with related facilities that will continue for the duration of the project which is estimated to be 28 years.

The Wyong Areas Coal Joint Venture is partnered by the following companies ñ Kores Australia Pty Ltd, Catherine Hill Resources Pty Ltd, Kyungdong Australia Pty Ltd, SK Networks Australia (Wyong) Pty Ltd and SK Networks Resources Pty Ltd.

Mining will involve the extraction of export quality thermal coal using longwall mining techniques. The project will incorporate rail loop and loading infrastructure, coal handling and storage facilities, gas and water management facilities, underground drift entry and ventilation shafts, maintenance facilities and administration buildings.
