Western Areas Ltd

Encorporated in 1999, Western Areas Ltd is a leading nickel producer with high grade projects in Western Australia.

Their flagship project is the Forrestania in WA, which consists of high grade nickel mines Flying Fox and Spotted Quoll.

Production of the underground Flying Fox mine commenced in 2006 and operates to depths of over 1 kilometre and produce approx 17,000 tonnes of nickel ore per year.

The Spotted Quoll underground nickel mine is located 400 kilometres east of Perth in Western Australia. It was the second mine developed by Western Areas, who discovered the ore body midway through 2007. Production commenced at the Spotted Quoll Mine in mid 2009.
