Waratah Coal

Waratah Coal is owned by Mineralogy Pty Ltd, which is owned by Queenslander Clive Palmer. Holding exploration permits for coal and mineral resources throughout the Laura, Bowen, Galilee, Styx's, Surat, Moreton, Maryborough, Nymbodia Basins and the Northern Territory.

Major projects include:

Galilee Coal Project- located in Qld with estimated development costs of $8.8 Billion with production expected to start in 2016.

Alpha North Coal Project- delivering thermal coal to China via the railway connection to China First Rail and the export expansion at Abbot Point. Feasibility studies have commenced with first coal production expected in 2020. Exploration studies confirm around 3.48 billion tonnes of high quality coal resources at the site.
