Safety and Skilling Solutions was founded in 2013 and is a family owned company based in Mackay, Queensland. The company was developed due to the demand for training and safety solutions to various industries, particularly the mining and construction industries in the Mackay and surrounding Bowen Basin Region.

The team at Safety and Skilling Solutions understand the mining and construction industries thoroughly as we have worked in these industries in safety and emergency services through to open ticketed crane operators, EWP and forklift operators. With over fifteen years experience in gold, nickel and iron ore mines in Western Australia to the coalfields in Queensland. You can be sure that we can deliver training in an industry that we are experts in. We provide a very strong emphasis on safety and the diverse policies, procedures and methods associated within the resource and construction industries.

All of our training is provided in partnership with a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation and we are confident that we will exceed the national requirements as well as customer expectation. We firmly believe that one of the best investments a company could make is in the training of their employees. Training employees in safety helps understand the risks in health and safety, what steps are required to mitigate these risks, together with compliance procedures and regular standards to safety. By keeping your employees current with safety training, it ensures that your business operations are running safely, resulting in greater production and less downtime.

It is a companyís responsibility to ensure that reasonable measures are taken to confirm that each employee is competent for the duties they are required to perform, otherwise known as VOC (Verification Of Competency), which is a National Workplace Health and Safety Legislation that was introduced in January 2012. It is mandatory to ensure that all tickets and qualifications remain current.

We offer Standard 11 training, which is a mining induction course that is the entry point to your mining career. The course is run over three days and covers topics such as first aid, training and assessment, hazard management, risk assessment, emergency escape procedures, reporting, site standard procedures, team operations, communications, atmosphere testing, competency standards compliance, isolation and tagging and occupational health and safety issues. First Aid & CPR courses are also available every Friday in Mackay.

Safety and Skilling Solutions can deliver training in our air conditioned training facility or we can come to you on site at a time convenient to you, we also offer group booking discounts.
