Established in 1999, Macmines Austasia Pty Ltd is focusing on geological exploration and mining business in Queensland.

Shanxi Meijin Energy Group in China acquired 100% stakes of Macmines In July 2007 and became the sole shareholder of Macmines.

The company's focus is the China Stone coal mining project, a large scale greenfield coal mining operation located 300 kilometres west of Mackay and 270 kilometres south of Townsville, at the northern reaches of the Galilee Basin in northern Queensland.
