Macmahon is a large full service Australian mining company, with mining contracts both above ground and below, operating since 1963. Macmahon won its first mining contract in 1967 for excavation works at Nobles Nob Gold Mines at Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.
In 1983 with more than 1000 employees and $77 million in revenue, Macmahon was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
Continuing on from strength to strength had Macmahon established its international operations with ventures in Chile and Malaysia in 1994 and their appearance in the coal sector was confirmed with new contracts at Blackwater, Queensland and Muswellbrook, New South Wales in 2001. The construction of the Alice Springs to Darwin Railway also began in 2001 and the Company secured a 10 year road maintenance contract in Western Australia.
2010 saw Macmahon venture into African projects and in 2013 they were awarded their largest ever mining contract, the Christmas Creek Mine expansion project.
