Linc Energy

Established in 1996 and was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2006, Linc Energy is an oil and gas exploration and supply company.

Linc Energy has a large portfolio of coal assets in Australia and has a proven underground coal gasification (UCG) technology, which in simple terms, when applied extracts coal from the ground, but not in a conventional way. Linc Energy's technology allows them to heat the coal underground to produce synthesis gas (syngas) which is extracted through a well and utilised for power generation. The process has been refined to the point where they can produce syngas in around 60 minutes, from coal seam to output.
