Latrobe Magnesium

Latrobe Magnesium (LMG) is working to develop a magnesium production plant in Victoria's Latrobe Valley. The plant will use a world-first process of combined hydromet / thermal reduction to extract the metal.

Construction of the plant is expected to begin in 2015, with initial production due a year later.

The project intends to produce magnesium from brown coal fly ash waste.
