Laing O Rourke

John Laing formed his construction company back in 1848. In 1978 Ray O'Rourke and Des O'Rourke founded O'Rourke and Son and turning a regionally based formwork and concrete business into an international construction and engineering company that spanned Canada, Europe, The Middle East, Asia and Australia. In 2001 Laing O'Rourke was formed when O'Rourke and Son acquired John Laing Plc and became the largest privately owned construction company in the UK

Today Laing O'Rourke is providing construction, maintenance and infrastructure services to the natural resources, oil and gas, water and power sectors. Working on numerous projects in coal, iron ore, zinc, bauxite, alumina, diamond and copper resources in Australia.
