KCGM

Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) was formed in 1989 to manage the assets and operations of joint partners Normandy Australia and Homestake Gold. The combination of leases that form the famous Super Pit, an open pit gold mining area in Western Australia. More recently the joint partners have changed and KCGM manages the operation for Newmont Australia and Barrick Gold Australia.

The Super Pit is the largest gold open pit mine in Australia, it produces up to 800,000 ounces of gold every year. It stretches out at 3.8 kilometres long, 1.5 kilometres wide and over 600 metres deep.
