Hastings Deering

Hastings Deering is based in Queensland and the Northern Territory and are one of the largest Caterpillar dealers in the world with branches located throughout Australia and overseas and more than 4,000 employees. They have 13 branches in Qld and 3 in the NT, with exclusive distribution rights for Caterpillar. The Hastings Deering group of companies sells, services, rents and supports the complete range of Caterpillar machinery used in the mining, construction, forestry and agricultural industries.

Hastings Deering has been a major part of development in Queensland, initially with sales of large Caterpillar tractors to contractors clearing land for agriculture, and later for large mining projects in Queensland and New South Wales. A relationship was formed between the Hastings Deering group and Thiess Brothers, resulting in a large Caterpillar fleet of machines and equipment on major civil projects around Australia.
