Gujarat NRE Coking Coal Limited

Gujarat NRE Coking Coal Limited- formally kmown as Gujarat NRE Minerals Limited is an Australian listed company that owns two hard coking coal mines in New South Wales. NRE No 1 Colliery and NRE Wongawilli Colliery contain around 125 million tonnes of coal reserves and resources of 651 million tonnes.

Most coal is sold to its parent company, Gujarat NRE Coke Limited which is an Indian company.

Both mines have a potential mine life of over 30 years. The company has spent approximately US$750 million over the last 8 years to expand production capabilities and improve infrastructure.

The use of new longwall equipment at NRE No.1 and existing longwall equipment at NRE Wongawilli Colliery, which commenced operations in 2008, along with other improvements at the mines, will boost total production capacity from approximately 1.1 MTPA in fiscal year 2012 to approximately 5 MTPA in fiscal year 2016.
