Golding Contractors

First established in 1942 by Cyril Golding, in Gladstone Queensland, initially involved in the logging industry. The business expanded and ventured into dam construction and minor earthworks projects. In the 1960's the company was incorporated and became known as Cyril Golding Earthmoving Pty Ltd and continued to expand. It was in this decade that the company forged a partnership with Queensland Alumina Ltd that lasted over 40 years.

In the 1970s Cyril Golding Earthmoving was involved with major projects that included Queensland Alumina's Red Mud Dam, contract mining at Mary Kathleen and various other projects throughout the Bowen Basin. Many more major mining and construction projects took place during the 1980s and the company continued to grow in knowledge, capability and size. In 1990 the company name was changed to Golding Contractors Pty Ltd.

Today Golding is Queensland's oldest and largest privately owned company who employs over 1750 people plus contractors. Focussing on resources, energy and infrastructure. Projects include coal and gold mines, construction of bridges, roads and rail, wharves and jetties and industrial plant maintenance.

Golding prides themselves on safety and their record speaks for itself with two million work hours free of LTI (Lost Time Injury) over 19 different projects including mining and civil.

Long term partnerships include working with BMA, Bechtel, Queensland Rail and clients include Boral, CS Energy, Rio Tinto and Wesfarmers just to name a few.
