BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance

BMA as it is known is an alliance between BHP Billiton and Mitsubishi, BMA owns and operates seven coal mines in the Bowen Basin

• Saraji
• Norwich Park
• Gregory Crinum
• Blackwater

The BHP Mitsubishi Alliance also owns the Hay Point coal export terminal just south of Mackay.

All of the BMA coal mines are located in The Bowen Basin which is a coal rich region of Central Queensland

All of the BMA mines are all open cut coal mines utilising both draglines and truck and shovel techniques with the exception of the two underground longwall operations at Crinum Coal Mine and Broadmeadow Coal Mine.

BHP Billiton owns 50 per cent of BMA.
