Barrick Gold

Barrick Gold Corporation dates back to 1983 with its first acquisition of Renabie Gold mine in Northern Ontario. Expanding in 1994, Barrick acquired Lac Minerals, giving the company interests in Canada, United States and Chile. In 2000 Barrick acquired Pangea Goldfields, a mining exploration company with properties in Tanzania, Canada and Peru.


2001 Barrick merged with Homestake Mining Company and adding to its portfolio with mines in North and South America and Australia, which includes the Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mine (KCGM).

In Australia Barrick's operations produced 912,000 ounces of gold for the first half of 2013. For the full 2013 year expected production is at 1.70-1.85 million ounces.

Barrick operates the Cowal mine in NSW and 7 other mines in WA, including Granny Smith, Kalgoorlie and Plutonic.

Anticipated gold production for Barrick for 2013 is in the range of 7-7.4 million ounces of gold and 500-540 million pounds of copper.
