Silja Europa Reported To House Workers

Estonian passenger shipping company AS Tallink Grupp and Bridgemans Services Ltd have reportedly entered into a charter agreement to charter the cruise ferry Silja Europa to Australia as an accommodation vessel.

Silja Europa Barrow Island

An extra 1200 workers will be housed by Chevron on the Silja Europa off Barrow Island in Western Australia.

The period of the charter is at least 14 months with an option to extend up to 48 months, providing extra accommodation for the final stages of construction on its A$61 billion Gorgon LNG project.

The Gorgon Gas Project is being undertaken by international company Chevron, The Project includes the construction of a three train, 15.6 million tonnes a year liquified natural gas (LNG) plant, as well as a domestic gas facility that has a capacity to produce 300 terajoules of gas every day to service the Western Australian domestic market.
