Downer wins solar farm contract

A $190 million solar farm contract has been secured by engineering group Downer EDI in North Queensland.

FRV, a global solar development company has awarded Downer with the contract to build, operate and maintain the developing 100 megawatts Clare Valley Solar farm in North Queensland.

Downer have announced the construction is to begin in the new year and will take about 12 months.

Downer EDI has reported a drop in full year profit due to a large fall in revenue from mining and rail sectors, and predicts an even bigger decline next year.
