Approvals Progress for Development of CEIP

Friday 29th of May 2015 11:01:23 AM

Iron Road Limited is pleased to announce that the South Australian Government has registered Mineral Claim 4383 within the Central Eyre Iron Project (CEIP) to a wholly owned subsidiary. This registration is a key step required prior to obtaining the Mining Lease over the Warramboo orebody.

The Mineral Claim covers an area of 8,458 hectares, predominantly within Iron Road’s Exploration Licence 4849 and a small portion within a third party exploration licence. Agreements have been reached with all holders of mining tenements in relation to those portions of land comprised within the Mineral Claim.

The Mining Lease application and supporting Mining Lease Proposal are scheduled to be submitted in Q3 2015, seeking approval to produce 21.5Mtpa of high quality iron concentrate, containing approximately 67% iron, over an expected mine life in excess of 25 years. These documents will be lodged with the South Australian Department of State Development for assessment under the Mining Act, 1971.

Mine optimisation studies are nearing completion and are expected to result in an expanded Mining Reserve and an increase in planned output. The Mineral Resource at the CEIP stands at 4.5Bt at a grade of 16% iron. Importantly, 77% (or 3.5Bt) is now in the Measured and Indicated categories, the largest Measured and Indicated magnetite Mineral Resource in Australia.
