The Dalgaranga – Gilbeys gold mining project is located 70 kilometres north west of Mt Magnet in the Murchison region of Western Australia. The intensive mineralisation of the area was discovered in the early 1990's and produced 229,000 ounces of gold, mainly from the Gilbeys deposit, from 1996 through to 2000.

Gascoyne Resources Acquire 80 Percent of the Dalgaranga – Gilbeys Project in 2012

In August, 2012, Gascoyne Resources Limited, a Western Australian based gold mining exploration and developing company, acquired an 80 percent interest in the Dalgaranga gold project, which included exploration tenements surrounding the project that were previously privately owned. The project now covers most of the Dalgaranga greenstone belt. The Dalgaranga project contains a JORC measured, Indicated and Inferred Resource of 23 million tonnes of gold bearing ore, grading at 1.4 grams a tonne, that will return over one million ounces of contained gold. The Dalgaranga Mining Lease was granted to Gascoyne Resources Limited on September, 25, 2013.

Substantial Gold Remains Below the Gilbeys Open Pit Mine

Although the Gilbeys open pit had previously been mined to 130 metres below the surface significant gold mineralisation remains along strike and at depth. The Gilbeys gold deposit is contained in a 100 to 200 metres wide shear zone that extends in a north easterly direction for more than two kilometres. Substantial gold mineralisation exists directly below the existing pit that can be conveniently accessed by undertaking modest pit cut backs.

Gascoyne Resources Discover the new Hendricks Gold Deposit

On January 14, 2016, Gascoyne Resources Limited, announced it had discovered another gold deposit at the Dalgaranga – Gilbeys project, the Hendricks deposit. The new Hendricks deposit was found to exist three kilometres east of the Gilbeys open pit.

Scoping Study Confirms Dalgaranga – Gilbeys Project to be Viable

A Scoping Study undertaken on the Dalgaranga project in 2015, resulted in the confirmation that an economical project could be developed which could produce 60,000 ounces of gold a year for at least six years from the mining of 1.5 million tonnes of ore annually.

CSA Global Pty Ltd Undertake Pit Optimisation Study at Dalgaranga – Gilbeys Project

Independent mining consultancy company, CSA Global Pty Ltd, were engaged by Gascoyne Resources Limited to undertake a study on various pit optimisations for ongoing mining of the gold deposits contained in the Dalgaranga – Gilbeys Project. Their brief included the preferred production rate required to facilitate reaching the project's overall economic targets. The optimisation study showed the project would be able to sustain a much larger production rate than that recommended in the earlier Scoping Study, a result which gave support to the company's belief that it would be able to produce between 80,000 and 100,000 ounces of gold a year for up to seven years.

Mintrex Design Dalgaranga Gold Processing Plant

Gascoyne Resources Limited also engaged Mintrex as their process plant engineers for the mine Pre-Feasibility Study, as well as work on the Dalgaranga process plant design and operating costs. Mintrex have been successful in designing process plants for various companies that have proven to operate efficiently while being less capital intensive than other designs. The Dalgaranga gold processing plant will be based on the plant designed by Mintrex for the Regis owned Moolart Well and Rosemount processing facilities, that have a combined operating capacity of handling 10 million tonnes of ore a year. Planning is also underway on site infrastructure, tailings storage and hydrogeological assessment.

Gascoyne Resources ltd

At the 100% owned Glenburgh gold project in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia the Company now has a JORC compliant Measured, Indicated & Inferred Mineral Resource of over 1,000,000 ounces of gold.
