BIS Industries is seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter to join its operations at the One Steel Workshop in Whyalla.

This is a residential positions on a 5/4/4/5 roster, rotating day and night.
  


You will be Responsible for the servicing, repair & Breakdown maintenance of Our Mobile heavy plant and earth moving Equipment. Must be able to demonstrate & perform basic/complex fault finding diagnostics on site while maintaining a high level of safety in line with the company's policies & procedures.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Demonstrate commitment to our goal of Zero Harm to both personnel and equipment
  • Maintenance and repairs of heavy vehicles and mobile plant equipment including but not limited to Cat 972 to 990 Loaders, Cat 311 to 349 Excavators, Cat 740 Articulated Dump Trucks, Komatsu 900 loaders & A Major variety of different equipment to Service the Steel Works. 
The successful applicant will possess the following:    
  • Cert III Trade Qualified;
  • Car licence (HR Licence preferable);
  • Forklift and High Risk tickets preferable;
  • Previous experience in a heavy vehicle workshop;
  • Caterpillar & Komatsu experience Highly Regarded;
  • Own tools of trade;
  • Excellent Diagnostic skills
  • A good work ethic; and
Positive safety attitude essential
