Bis Industries is seeking a proactive and driven Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for managing all maintenance activities including system development, documentation, statutory compliance, maintenance reports, reviewing maintenance policies and procedures and reliability of assets of the Newlands mine site.  This position is an integral part of the Business Unit management team contributing to the development of strategy and working collaboratively to ensure a cohesive approach working at all times within the ethos of Zero Harm.
Reporting to the Site Manager, this position is also responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to asset reliability across the business unit and to continually enhance, maintain, and assist with implementing standards for equipment maintenance and equipment procurement with a primary focus on safety and reliability. The Maintenance Manager will work on a 7:7 roster DIDO from Mackay, QLD.  

Key responsibilities for this role include

• Identification, development and implementation of maintenance strategies to ensure that the equipment life cycle is maximised to the fullest
• Apply a consistent approach to asset reliability to continually enhance and maintain preventative maintenance practices
• Ensure Bis Industries maintenance standards are maintained and that ongoing value is added to the customer
• Ensure all maintenance is carried out in accordance with planned timeframes, quality requirements, customer service levels, operating efficiency and value add
• Develop and maintain a close understanding of all equipment operation and utilisation
• Develop and maintain a close rapport with customers and suppliers
• Develop ongoing relationships with all employees of the business unit to ensure effective team work under dynamic conditions 
• Develop and allocate work scopes from equipment inspections
• Ongoing reporting and measurement on maintenance progress with regards to asset availability, machine overhauls or new equipment purchases
• Ensure business improvement programmes are implemented and encouraged to meet internal and external customer requirements
• Instil and maintain a vigorous safety culture by a demonstrated commitment to Zero Harm
• Ensure compliance with safety legislation and all company safety systems and procedures
• Work in a manner that complies with Bis Industries Employee Performance and Behaviour Code and upholding the company values including working in a manner that respects the environment
The successful applicant will possess the following:  
• Minimum 5 years' experience in management of a heavy mobile plant maintenance workshop
• Up to date mechanical experience with heavy haulage equipment
• Experience in the statutory requirements for mobile plant operation         
• Heavy Mechanical trade qualifications
• Certificate IV in front line management or equivalent
• Commitment to Zero Harm
• Commitment to preventative maintenance
• Demonstrated track record in maintaining high level of asset reliability working with a diverse fleet of equipment.    
• Ability to provide leadership to a team of maintenance personnel
• Extensive knowledge of the heavy transport / mining industry
• Sound communication and leadership skills
• Working knowledge of OHS legislation, regulations and codes
