Bis Industries is seeking a proactive and successful Regional Manager for our operations in the Midwest, WA.  Reporting to the GM - Specialised Logistics, the role has full accountability and responsibility for line management of this Business Group. This role contributes to the strategic direction of the division and ensures that the business conforms to and achieves agreed objectives at all times in accordance with Bis Values.  
 
Moreover, the purpose of the Regional Manager role will be to plan, manage, control and direct the Business Units' activities so that optimum profitability and growth is achieved through the effective use of company assets and Human Resources. This must be always acting with respect for the community and environment and fully striving to achieve our value of Zero Harm.
 
Note: The Regional Manager will work 3 days on site and 2 days in Perth as well as provide management coverage for leave on various sites throughout the Goldfields and Midwest, WA.
 
Key responsibilities for this role include:
 
• Establish and implement sound marketing, commercial, operating, maintenance and financial policies, plans, key performance indicators and controls for the business units which are compatible with corporate guidelines and plans.
• Maintain awareness of competitive and other activities of the business units which may have significant effects on its markets.
• Negotiate and reach agreement on a sound business plan for the business units with the General Manager and Director and subordinates in an ever changing environment.
• Equip, organise and staff the business units to meet the general demands of the enterprise and those of specific clients.
• Apply sound industrial relations techniques and procedures within the business units.
• Preparation, presentation and administration of revenue, expense and capital budgets for the business units in accordance with the business plan.
• Maintain a close level of communication with all employees of the business unit always being aware of and responding positively to the matters that concern them.
• Overall implementation and maintenance of the WHSE System to the relevant WHSE State authority standard.
• Providing the human, technical and financial resources required to achieve the objectives and targets of the WHSE system.
• Demonstrating an active and personal involvement in the maintenance and development of the WHSE management system.
• The implementation of strategies and actions agreed in the business plan in a timely and sound manner so as to maximize expectations.
 
The successful applicant will possess:
 
• Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline or equivalent formal studies in management may be an advantage
• Demonstrated management and leadership experience on a complex site
• Previous exposure to mining industry, infrastructure projects, crushing, logistics and load and haul.
• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and intermodal solutions with rail an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching a diverse team
• Strong track record in Safety leadership and performance
• Exceptional people management and communication skills
• Organisational skills and the ability to make quality decisions quickly, and at times with limited information
• Sound knowledge of operational and marketing sales aspects of the business units involved
• Lead the sharing of best practice and Zero Harm safety culture
• Excellent commercial acumen combined with strong leadership skills.
• Ability to Travel between Site and Perth is a must
