Bis Industries is currently seeking an HR Business Partner to provide operational and strategic human resource support and advice to internal stakeholders and client groups in New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory, South Australia and Tasmania.  Whilst there is a high degree of autonomy, this role is a key member of the national People and Culture team and will proactively provide support both in person and/or remotely.  Note: this role is based in our North Sydney office but there is an expectation of regular site travel across our operations in the East.
 
Key responsibilities for this role include:
• Provide coaching, guidance and support to operational leadership in relation to HR policy and practice including the implementation of change management programs,  monitoring organisational capability and effectiveness and employee engagement;
• Assist with the implementation of relevant initiatives, programs and processes in line with the Bis Industries People & Culture strategy;
• Supporting and coaching Managers to carry out appropriate investigations that deliver safe and fair outcomes;
• In partnership with Operations Managers, General Managers and the Employee Relations Manager, provide input and support in the development of Enterprise Agreements and rolling these out to sites once ratified;
• Identify gaps in existing HR processes and contribute to the development and implementation of new HR policies and procedures;
• Develop effective employee consultation and communication processes;
• Develop and implement effective retention strategies to reduce unplanned turnover (includes key roles and managing overall retention levers).
 
The successful applicant will possess the following:
• Degree qualified in Human Resources, Business Management or related discipline;
• Proven experience in a generalist HR role, supporting a predominantly blue collar workforce within a multi-site business environment;
• Sound knowledge of principles and procedures for HR policy implementation, resourcing and retention, learning and development and performance management;
• Strong knowledge of relevant employment legislation and regulations;
• Experience in managing employee relations matters including Enterprise Agreement negotiations and disciplinary investigations;
• Strong ability to communicate and influence across all organisational levels;
• Proven experience in managing and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives.
